The holiday season is always my favorite time of the year—I love all the glitter and lights and garlands. But the house always feels a little extra boring once I take all that down.

My usual Christmas storage is basically a giant tub with all the items thrown in more or less, but since I added a little more to my Christmas stash this year, I thought it would be a good time to get a little more organized with my decorations.

Here are some easy tips to make packing (and then unpacking!) your holiday decor a breeze!

How to Store Ornaments:

For items like ornaments, use a segmented storage option where there are lots of little compartments to keep your ornaments separate and safe during storage.

If you are looking for a classic cookie recipe with just a little bit more going on than your average chocolate chip cookie, you should bake this M&M cookie recipe.

These cookies are soft and chewy with a little crunch and chocolate from the M&M candies. I used all white chocolate M&Ms, but you could use other colors for holidays or other occasions, or swap them out for peanut M&Ms or other flavors.

This M&M cookie recipe is super simple and can be made in about 30 minutes or less. You could gift these or double this recipe and freeze the cookie dough to bake individually as you please, or have something in your freezer to pull out in case of surprise guests.

We’re warm weather people all the way, so we thought it would be fun to do an anti-traditional tour of sorts in the cabana. Why? Because it’s been a rough couple of years, if we’re being completely honest. So here’s to celebrating however we want – and making all the little things festive. A Christmas Cabana tour today!

{If you’re familiar with us, then you’ve seen this before. Maybe pretend you haven’t? Because I bet most haven’t, and this still makes us happy. Yes, I am officially dialing it in after a long few months and a cold… I’m ready to settle in for a long winter’s nap- either way, happy touring!}

And we couldn’t resist these

We hope that the holidays are wonderful for you this year. In their very own way.

We know that celebrations and Christmas and the holidays… can be hard. They can be filled with pressures and stress and travel and difficult for those that have suffered a really hard loss. Or maybe for those who aren’t a part of a “picture perfect” family situation. {Who really is?} Life can honestly be pretty brutal sometimes. It can throw some real blows.

We’ve found that it’s in the imperfect, and even painful moments that we find the real beauty of life.

We hope that you take a second to celebrate the bittersweet of this year. The wins, the losses, and the grateful moments with what you have. We hope you relish in the joy and appreciate where you are, no matter what that looks like for you.

We’re really reflecting on our year,
